Aurora, now known as Briar Rose, had enjoyed her 16 years being spoiled rotten by her fairy godmothers. They ended up having to do some form of magic, after casting some concealment charms and hiding it from Aurora, to sustain her each and every wish. The princess preferred to lay in bed all day and have all kinds of meals and snacks brought up to her room. When she hit 14, she sank through her bed and crashed a hole through the ceiling, so she was moved to a downstairs room.
All this non-stop snacking of her showed it's effects. Fat spilled from every inch of her body in every direction, leaving her barely mobile. Standing up cost her a lot of effort, and she could barely walk. Almost at age 16, she remained barely mobile. The fairy godmothers decided to keep her like this for one more day so she wouldn't be able to complete the curse of touching the spinning wheel.
