The young man stared up towards the ceiling for a few seconds before replying.
"Not a clue. So, can I go home now?"
Groaning at his client's impatience, Keiji shook his head as he took out a small notebook with a pencil that could easily fit in the shinobi's jumpsuit. "Unfortunately, without actual information, there's not much I can do for you. So I want you to carry this with you for the next two days."
Picking up the small notebook, Naruto examined the paper and pencil. "A notebook?"
"I want you to take notes..."
"Hey, hey!" Naruto replied defensively. "Notes? Why the hell should I do that? Had enough of that in school."
"Do you want to live or not?"
The remark was enough to get the young man to nod. "OK, so what am I doing?"
"I want you to observe the women you interact with on a daily basis, and the ones that are in the relative area. See if they're behaving any different than usual, or if they're attempting to avoid or facilitate conversation."
Delivering the same blank stare as before, Naruto asked, "Meaning?"
"If a girl you know is acting weird, write it down!" Keiji yelled. "And keep an eye out for any more love letters like these. I'm noticing a definite progression here in the notes. Your stalker seems to be preparing herself to act."
The ninja nodded, walking towards the door.
"Meet me back in my office in two days, or if you have solid proof of who the stalker is. And Mr. Umazaki?"
"Yeah?"
"Don't get killed. Kahashi's withholding half of my payment until the stalker is apprehended."
The cocky grin returning to his face, Naruto walked out the door. "Me, get killed? It'll take a lot more than some creepy girl to kill me! Believe..."
"OK, you can go now. It's time for my next appointment."
