Chapter #6The Burger Trip by: Unknown Katherine eagerly waited outside of the new fast food joint that was about to open, Burgertopia. It was acclaimed to have the best tasting burgers in the world. Katherine, wanting something better than her day-to-day meals, was so excited that she was nearly hopping up and down with excitement. However, she had taken notice that she was the only one waiting, which was strange, since this place was world renowned. Her thoughts were cut off from the sound of a door unlocking, as the front door of Burgertopia opened, for all to eat. Katherine burst into the restaurant, only to find out that the registers were all automated. This didn't bother her too much, so she put her order in, and waited patiently. When her order was done, she was given a note saying that it was a to go meal, since the place just started out. Katherine left the building, got into her car, and drove off to her house. When she reached her house, she unlocked the front door, and entered. When she got out all of the food from it's bags, she pondered what to eat first. She eventually decided on a small burger, but she was soon shoveling it all into her mouth, as a sudden hunger pang came over her. When all that was left were empty wrappers, Katherine sit back, and rubbed her now rotund stomach. When she saw this, she immediately made a dash to the scale. She stepped on, and watched as the digits began scrambling (it was a digital one), until they eventually stopped on 459 lbs. Katherine, mind filled with shock, reached up slowly with both hands, and squeezed her abdomen. Upon feeling how soft it was, her tail immediately perked up, and she said "My god! I've never looked better in my life!" This was a side effect of the food at Burgertopia. The company inserts all kinds of different chemicals into the food to help attract customers and keep them. The intended effects we're to
1. Make the food taste good
2. Make the consumer want more
3. Make the consumer content with being fat (this was implemented in case there was a boycott on the company for the sever weight gain that was bound to happen, like what happened to McDonald's a while back)
However, there was a miscommunication about the third effect, and the R&D department of the company thought they were to make the food extremely fattening. The reason nobody but Katherine showed up to the grand opening was due to multiple reports of massive weight gain, like a journalist who gained over 800 pounds while researching the restaurant, AND HE DIDN'T EVEN CARE! However, this news did not reach Katherine, and now she is under the spell of Burgertopia. She wanted more, but she was feeling very lazy. Luckily, they had made a mobile app to order food directly to your door. She also considered her wardrobe, as if she had gotten fatter, she may have outgrown some clothes.
