Rini looked around as she approached the boys, thankful that no one else was in the area. With her right arm across her chest and her left hand covering the REALLY embarrassing part, she just had to hope that Sarah and the others weren't laughing at her butt. Scout's honor may have required she respect her promise to Sarah, but Rini would be reconsidering their friendship after this.
Most of the boys had fallen into an argument over who could beat up whom, discussing powers and motivations and citing specific issues of comic books for proof. Dumb! But one was off by himself, pretending to fly around, using his windbreaker as a cape. Rini walked right up on him, barefoot-sneaky.
"HEY!" she shouted, startling the kid. "Can I be your damsel in distress?"
Rini was ready to turn around and run, and to heck with actually scaring the boys. But the boy she'd snuck up on WAS scared, which was sort of interesting. He certainly hadn't expected to see a naked girl suddenly appear behind him.
"Go away," he said, pretty weakly. The other boys had turned when Rini shouted, and were just starting to point, screaming with laughter.
Rini, feeling angry at the other guys and a little sadistic toward the stunned kid in front of her, lost all squeamishness. Growling and raising her arms menacingly, she pounced on the surprised boy. He immediately collapsed, but then started digging his heels into the grass as he tried to escape.
"Get off!" he yelled, definitely freaked. "Get offa me!!"
After a brief scuffle, the boy managed to squirm away and run out of the park as fast as he could. Rini was left with his windbreaker. She shrugged and caped up, charging the rest of the guys. Even as she was doing it, she couldn't believe it.
The remaining wannabe-heroes, who'd all flopped to the ground from laughter, now looked a little concerned as Rini rushed them. She was still roaring and waving her arms, which wasn't very damsel-in-distressish, but the boys looked spooked as she... streaked over. Rini literally ran over one of them, her feet slapping down on his back and head.
As an experiment, she lunged at one of the boys and grabbed him. He didn't fall over, but he seemed just as panicky as Rini's first victim.
"Lemme GO!" he yelled, finally pushing her away and making a break for it. He acted like her nudity was a disease he might catch.
Rini realized she was having fun, not humiliated at all.
The three boys left were gathering up their stuff and getting ready to split. Rini took her 'cape' off and pitched it at one of them, figuring he'd bring the jacket back to his friend. The gesture underscored her nakedness, which only further bewildered Rini's remaining audience.
"She's crazy!" said one of the guys, tripping as he ran away. He hopped up and kept going, not looking back.
"Her hair's pink!" said another, as validation of Rini's insanity. He fled.
"Don't mess with me, OK?" pleaded the last boy, backing away with his hands up.
"It's revenge, because you guys ruined my friend's birthday party when you showed up naked that one time," said Rini, knowing it was a pretty lame explanation. The guy obviously didn't know what she was talking about, and sprinted off when Rini stomped her foot.
Sarah, Janet, and Noel broke out of the bushes, cheering and running toward Rini. Astonished at her success, Rini considered what to do next.
