The color drained out of her face as Usagi quickly rushed passed Rei into the changing room. She scanned the line of baskets, but she couldn't see any that looked like Rei's clothes.
"Rei, are your clothes here?" She asked in dying hope.
Rei walked in behind her, looked over the shelves.
"I....that's weird, I don't see them. I swore they were here a second ago." Rei said, puzzled.
"They were!" Usagi moaned in despair. "Someone took them! Someone took your clothes too!"
"Wait. Someone stole your clothes?" Rei asked.
"Right." Usagi confirmed.
"And you didn't think to say anything about it?" Rei asked.
"Well, I would have, but SOMEONE distracted me!" Usagi said.
"Oh please! You were the one distracting me! I'd have had the common sense to say something about a panty thief before he got to both of us!" Rei fumed.
"Rei, don't be mean." Usagi said, a little tearfully. "I was scared after losing my clothes...and then you came in and you looked so beautiful...and I felt safe and I wanted..."
Rei's lip curled in a little smile, despite her best attempts to keep scowling. "Dammit Usagi, I'm trying to be angry, here. Don't give me that little pout of yours...."
"You mean, this one?" Usagi asked, offering Rei a big eyed soleful face, her eys slightly downcast, her left foot making circles in the dirt.
"Argh!" Rei said in mock outrage. "That's not fair! You can't do your little baby pout and be naked! I can't win against both of them!"
"I'm sorry, Rei-chan..." Usagi said in her sing song voice.
"Okay! Okay! I forgive you." Rei said. "But what do we do now??"
"We can use your towel!" Usagi said.
"Usagi..." Rei said patiently. "That towel covers one person. Barely. There's no way we can share it."
"You could use it to get into your room and get dressed." Usagi offered. "And then come back for me!"
"Except my key was in the pocket of my clothes." Rei said sadly.
"Won't they have a spare at the front desk?" Usagi asked.
"Wow. That's actually a good idea. Way to go, Usagi!" Rei said.
"You don't need to sound that impressed." Usagi lamented. "I can have good ideas."
"Of course you can." Rei said sassingly. "Its rare, but it happens a couple times a year."
Usagi stuck her tongue out at the naked Rei. The black haired girl arched an eyebrow and swatted the blond on her butt, which elicited a little shriek from her. Rei trotted back to the bath before Usagi could retaliate. But she stopped dead when she reached the bath.
The towel was gone.
"How...Where...When..." Usagi sputtered.
"This is unreal." Rei whispered. "Okay....no clothes, no keys, and now no towel. Do...you have any other good ideas? Because I'm fresh out..."
Usagi thought hard.   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
