Upon reentering his home Ratchet put the leftover burger in his fridge. Too tired to go upstairs, he passed out on the couch and his body began the task of digesting the hunk of meat that resided in Ratchet’s stomach. Hours later, he woke up to a noise. He quickly sat up and brushed the sweat off his brow, realizing the noise was his stomach.
“How can you possibly still be hungry?” He initially considered ignoring it but a second grumble from his gut convinced him otherwise. Ratchet walked over to the fridge and pulled out the box that held the hamburger. After heating it up Ratchet placed a hand on his small stomach and thought, “I don’t want to get fat...” but then convinced himself that just one more hamburger wont do too much harm. But Ratchet knew that this wasn’t really just one hamburger. This burger like the one he ate for lunch was gigantic and more like four grease laden burgers instead of one. His mind, however was made up and brought the meal back to the couch.
After his first bite he was in a trance. The burger was delicious. He continued to eat the burger without a thought for anything else. It was just Ratchet and his food. About 10 minutes later he sprawled out on the couch and came out of his food induced high. “Uuughh.” Was all he could murmur. He felt a lead weight inside his stomach.
“Why did I....How did I eat that?” He thought. Rubbing his stomach he noticed a defined bulge. Thoughts of an obese version of himself raced through his mind. He then came to a conclusion. Out loud he said, “I’m never going to eat one of those... delicious, wonderful...burgers...” he trailed off. The food was too good to swear off, he was addicted. Slowly he sat up and decided to weigh himself before came to any more ultimatums. Clutching his distended stomach he slowly walked into the bathroom down the hall and stepped on.
In his tip-top hero’s shape Ratchet weighed about 115lbs (he was only 5 feet tall) and he assumed that he would clock in at about 120. The numbers spun around and rested at 130. Ratchet (forgetting that he lost about 5lbs of muscle since his last weigh in) decided that he could still lose all the weight and that the excess food hadn’t hurt him that much. “After all,” he thought, “I’ve been out of work for months now, the burgers couldn’t have done all of this.”
The mirror told another story. Ratchets stomach bowed out past his chest and rested atop his pants. “Lemme see something....” he mumbled. He then sucked his stomach in and reassessed his figure. He smiled as he looked like he had before his first introduction to the hamburgers. Seeing as the problem was solved he Happily relaxed his stomach causing it to flop back into it’s distended shape and waddled back to the couch, passing out again.
Unsurprisingly, Ratchet continued to eat at the restaurant and could now (almost) consume two of the giant hamburgers in one sitting. By the end of the first week of his new diet he had gained another 5 lbs. However, contrary to what Ratchet previously thought he wasn’t alone in the restaurant. While in the middle of another burger binge, two creatures approached Ratchet’s table. Once getting Ratchet’s attention the taller of the two said, “Me and my buddy here have been watching you this past week and noticed that you can really put these things away.” To which the shorter nodded and Ratchet cocked an eyebrow. He continued, “How would you like my partner and I to sponsor you in an upcoming eating.....tournament?”
