As the hyenas stepped off the other end of the log Sarabi made up her mind, it would be no use reporting the hyenas to Simba if she couldn't also lead him to them, and with that in mind, she waited till the hyenas were out of sight, then started across the log.
Of course, while the log was quite capable of taking three hyenas together, Sarabi was much heavier, and that's where the problems started. The former queen was near the middle of the log it began to creak warningly. At first she tried to back up, but it was useless, she'd have to go right to the end and turn around, so she continued on.
Things didn't improve though, because as Sarabi got past half way, she heard the log begin to break, so moved as fast as she could, hoping to get to the other bank before it gave way completely. This she managed, but she didn't have time to be thankful for this because the hyenas returned to see what the noise was, except there was now seven of them, too many for even some lions to handle, and a lion she certainly wasn't.
