This choice: Take off running after her. • Go Back...Chapter #6Take off running after her. by: Unknown You burst through the screen door. Running faster then you've ever ran in your entire life. You're not going to let her slip away from you now. Your mind is racing, you knew very well that if you didn't act now something bad could of happened. You don't know what's what anymore, it's all so confusing. Eventually you've stopped listening to reason and logic, and start acting on your own impulses and feelings. All you can do is run. Run for that one thing you've never seemed to really have in your life. Someone who actually, truly, loved you. And that, is all you can think about. The only thought in your head, as you chase blindly after Charlene. All other things, past, future, rhyme, reason, reality, fantasy, and everything that's ever happened to you is now shoved aside. It's all been happening so fast, that you've barely had time to keep up, and now cannot be bother wasting time by thinking it out. You had enough time to think, now it's time to do. You're in deep woods now. You are falling behind, and can barely hear her footsteps in front of you. You're insides are screaming now, how can she be able to keep this up? You just want to talk to her. All this time thinking it was you're fault. You heard what she said, you have not forgotten, yet that is still what you think. The thought is burned into your head and no one can convince you otherwise. You're body wishes you would stop. It's crying out in agony, yet you ignore this and continue to pursue her. You began to realize you're never catch up to her with all this mindless running, she's far too upset at herself to listen to anyone right now. Knowing that this can all be over in a second, everything can stop, if you'd just say those words. The three words that can end everything right here. "No." You think. "Not now. I will...I will....but not now." Actually using your mind for half a second, you cut off to the right. Slowing down as you do so, and slowly moving from tree to tree just out of sight. You see Charlene look back, then start to come to a halt, near a small clearing in the center of the woods. Apparently she's exhausted too. Charlene comes to rest on the grass, crouching down to sit, crossing her legs and bringing her hands up to her face once again in an attempt to calm herself down. You quietly walk on up to Charlene. She obviously cannot hear you through the pouring rain. "Hello." you say standing about a foot or two in front of her. She looks up at you, a burning feeling of sadness resting upon her face. "Don't. *pant* I know what you're thinking. *pant* And it can wait. *pant* I ran *pant* all the way out into the middle of nowhere in the rain *pant* to tell you something. I think thirty five seconds out of your life won't kill you. *pant* Listen to me. Whatever happened back there, that you're obviously so upset about, I *pant* honestly don't care what it was, but I do know that I'm the reason this happened, and I apologize for that. Truthfully, this is happening rather quickly, but I can adjust to that. You are a beautiful charmander Charlene. I know I've caused you pain, but leaving you won't make that better."
"But Y-You're a human. This is wrong. You could never love me."
"Charlene, I'm not the kind of person who really gives a damn what other people think or say is 'right'. Heh, I just don't have the guts to tell you how I really feel right now. I was when....I feel like I'm rushing this." You put your hand on your forehead, giving a look of anguish. "I don't matter right now. I want to make you happy Charlene, whatever that takes." You bend down close to her and take a good look into her eyes, this time with a blank expression. You put your right hand under her chin, leaning her head gently up so she's looking right at you. "I can't hurt you any more then I already have." With this Charlene opens her mouth a bit, as if to say something, but then she closes her eyes and jumps forward giving you warm embrace. Words have become useless now.
The sound of hissing that has been coming from her tail, due to the rain falling on it and evaporating, now stops completely. You actually seem to hug her back this time. After she relaxes her grip she sits back and looks at you again, then leans forward to....give you a kiss. She places her hands on both sides of your face and places her long tongue inside your mouth, closing her eyes again. You close your own eyes and gently stroke her back, feeling that odd sensation you've felt before you woke up. This could turn out to be something wonderful. You both sit there, the rain still coming down harder then ever, but you don't care. Many people say that there is absolutely no chance of finding true love anywhere in the world. The real world anyway....This is her world. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
