Possibilities with scenarios involving Original or Characters of different series.
1. Someone using a wish to make it happen. Whether it's a birthday wish. A wishing well, wish granting device/pendant, or a Genie granting their desires.
2. Something contaminated is spread across the world infecting many guys with growth. Contaminated water, milk, virus, or spread by air via mysterious pollen.
3. Characters from different series crossover for multiple scenarios. Whether it's a fight where the victor grows, characters transported to other worlds where some grow as the others shrink, a battle between gods where the characters have already reached the pinnacle of size and seek to befriend or dominate the others, or some helpless sap tries to bring their favorites together only to see how his actions have changed the entire world and that the giants might not be as happy as he wished.
4. Aliens abduct people to perform experiments on people. Unbeknownst to the target when they aren't taken directly. Whether it's tested chemicals on them, trying to make a good labor force, or seeking to make super weapons. The aliens plans go awry or better than they ever hoped for.
