As Matsumoto walked through the passageways of the Soul Society, she realized she didn't want to gain weight the natural way. 'If I just stuffed myself all day, I would end up feeling sick and my belly would ache all the time...' Matsumoto thought. That was when she had an idea.
With amazing speed, Matsumoto spun around and ran to Mayuri-taicho, who was known for his insane experiments. After some forceful negotiation, Matsumoto finally convinced Mayuri into making her a weight gain pill.
As Matsumoto hid it in between her breasts and walked away happily, Mayuri called her and said, "Just so you know, there is no way to lose any weight you gain from taking the pill, understand? It'll also increase your appetite, as well..."
Matsumoto nodded and ran off, although she had actually ignored Mayuri's warning completely...
