Alex in this story is fourteen-years-old, and like most adolescent boys his age, he is incredibly curious about everything, especially things related to sex, nature, science, and the human body. The teenage hormones going through his young body sometimes compels him to do weird, unsafe, embarrassing, abnormal, and sometimes reckless things to satisfy his emerging interests. Over the course of three years now, he has even unsuccessfully attempted to spy on his now hot thirty-six-year-old mom Sara, his attractive twelve-year-old sister Janet, and their friends while they undressed or took a shower. He only managed to see bits and pieces of their lovely bare bodies before being scared off by something.
Alex is not a violent person, but being an inquisitive adolescent male, some of the things he does can sometimes lead to cruelty, especially towards creatures much smaller then himself, like mice, bugs, and frogs. He even has some exotic pets that are currently locked up in glass cages in his bedroom, which are a male rat, a snake, a frog, a pitcher plant, Venus flytraps, and he even has a large male spider sitting on a wide web. He really loves predatory creatures. Miniature or unusually large things also fascinate him as well, the more detailed the better. He even made an incredibly detailed dollhouse that his little sister and her friends liked to play with.
On this day, Alex comes home earlier than usual from school. Sitting near his front door is a brown box. He picks it up, and the box is for him. Interested, he walks into his house, and walks into his bedroom. He opens the box to see a small, silver colored, weird looking ray gun in front of him. This ray gun looks like something from a Star Wars or a Star Trek movie. There is also a note or instructions inside that are written in English. It reads, “Greetings, you are now the owner of the Acme 2000 size ray. It is a simple thing to use, with many options. There is the GWC setting for growth without clothes. At that setting, clothes will not grow with the subject. Then there is also the FG setting, which means full growth, everything grows including clothes, etc. There is also a SWC setting for shrinking without clothes. At that setting, clothes will not shrink with the subject. Then there is the FS setting, which means full shrinking, everything shrinks including clothes, cars, etc. The last setting is R for Restore, which means the subjects are restored to normal size. It takes several seconds for people or things to shrink. It takes several minutes to grow things too. Have fun.”
Alex smiles thinking this is some kind of a joke. So naturally he testes all of the settings out on various living and nonliving things, restoring them each time, but he never tries it on people, yet. Every time the ray gun worked perfectly.
