The weasel walks past some kids, who don't bother to look at him, and you realize he's heading for one individual in particular. You see he's approaching a young cat anthro with white fur and bright blue eyes, sitting on the floor and looking over a pile of blocks. Judging by the fact that this anthro is wearing a yellow dress, you assume it is female.
"Hey, look!" the weasel said. "I got a new toy!"
The kitten looks up, and her eyes widen as she sees you. She gets to her pawed feet and walks towards you and the weasel.
"Wow! I've never seen a toy like that before! Where'd you find it?"
You look up at the weasel and frown, still indignant at the anthro's insistence at calling you a toy, but that motion seems to cause a reaction in the kitten. She gasps, and you look over at her.
"Wait, it looks alive! Hey, it moved! Toys don't move! That's not a toy!" the kitten cried.
"Looks like a toy to me," the weasel replied. "Come on, let's play with it!"
You're about to speak up, hoping that your voice will convince the kids that you are indeed a living thing, but the kitten cuts you off.
"No, let it go! It's not a toy! Lemme see it!"
The weasel glares at the kitten, but then crouches and releases you. You step forward, wanting to put some distance between the weasel and yourself. You look back to see that he is stepping back, and then he sits down with crossed arms and a frown on his face. Meanwhile, the kitten crouches down and looks at you closely.
"So, are you a toy?" she asks.
You shake your head vigorously. "No, I'm a human! I'm here because of some exchange program or something. I'm not a toy."
The kitten looked over at the weasel and stuck her tongue out. "See? Told ya!"
The weasel glares at her, and sticks his tongue out too. "Fine. So he ain't a toy! Whatever. You can play with him if you want. I'm gonna go get a real toy."
He goes away, leaving you alone with the kitten. You start to feel a bit scared near her, and you look up at her big blue eyes nervously.
"I've never met a human before," she says. "You look cute!"
You smile up at her, realizing that she seems to I deed be gentle. "Aw, thanks. You're cute too."
The kitten giggles. And then, to your surprise, she reaches down with both paws, clasping you between them. The pads soften her grip, but it's still tight, and your arms are pinned. She raises you up to her face, and brings you to her cheek, nuzzling you against her soft fur. You smile widely as she does so, closing your eyes and enjoying the feeling.
"Can I hold you?" she asks. You nod, feeling better in her grasp than in that of the weasel from before. The kitten is pleased with your answer, and nuzzles you a bit more before holding you out in front of her face.
"You're really cool!" she exclaims as she looks you over. "You're like a little dolly, but you're alive! Mommy always told me to be gentle to little things, though, so I won't hurt you!"
You let out a sigh of relief, glad to hear that. You just hope that she really will succeed at keeping you safe, because in a setting like this, where everything was ten times bigger, danger is everywhere.
The kitten's ears suddenly perk up, and she looks over to the side. You look too, and see...
