Chapter #4
Meeting Max
by: Unknown
Max is grinning from ear to ear as those massive ears swivel at the sound of your voice, his every footfall threatening to shake you off your feet as he pads closer.
Towering over you, the canid's tail waggles happily as he waits for the transport's door to cycle open so he can retrieve you. Of course, this gives you a few moments to try and really take in the scale of the big dog.
Big, unfortunately, is something of an understatement. You have trouble even seeing clearly past his ankles, the tallest skyscrapers from your homeworld would just barely clear his toes. Miles of white and gray fur cover the hulking dog, the fur so thick you could easily get lost in it.
With a hiss, the door finally opens, the breeze stirred up by the dog's wagging, miles long tail ruffling your own clothing as you grin bashfully, nervously up at him. The big dog drops to his knees, the impact knocking you right off your feet as you look up at him in awe.
"Hey man! It's great to finally meet you in person!" The dog's voice is so loud it almost hurts even through the earplugs you're already wearing, rumbling deep throguh your bones. The massive dog extends a finger to you in greeting, the black, leathery pad so large your entire house and yard could fit on it with room to spare.
"Hey, Max, it's nice to meet you." You reach up, placing your entire hand against his fingertip in what you hope is close enough to a handshake. "So what's the game plan here?"
Max grins doggishly, his tongue poking out from between his lips as he replies . . .
