Shifty

You're almost to the foot. You can smell the scent of Trini's sweat, almost feel her heartbeat shaking her foot, and the ground.

Suddenly, the enormous creature shifts. She probably isn't even consciously aware of it, but her foot lifts up slightly, then comes crashing down.

It's fortunate that you don't feel much. Before your mind can even process the motion, you're crushed beneath the foot of your friend. If it's any consolation, she'll give a really great eulogy at your memorial ceremony next year, after the search is called off.
