A gentle giant anthro story, for those who like them absurdly huge.
This choice: Your sword mastery  •  Go Back...
Chapter #5

What to Do

    by: Unknown
“I would be extremely interested in seeing your mastery of the sword. It has been said that you are the finest swordsman of your generation,” said Levice. You could barely keep your jaw from dropping in surprise. One of the only things you knew about swords was that the pointy end goes in the other guy. And you could not just be good with a sword here; you had to be “the finest swordsman of your generation.”

You hated to think about what would happen to you if you disappointed this dragon king. He had destroyed much of the surrounding countryside just by walking around and pretty much isolated the various human communities. You hated to think about what he could do to a person on purpose when he was angry. If you showed that you were not any good with a sword he might think that you are a fake that had done something to his real knight and he seemed like he really cared about his people.

You had to think of a way to get good with a sword extremely quickly. Then you thought about how ridiculous that notion was. There was no way you were going to get good with a sword between now and the end of breakfast. Maybe you could say that you were felling a little sick after eating breakfast. That might not work out too well either after you think about how societies in the Middle Ages worked. The cook might get blamed for poisoning you and then things would not work out too well for that cook. As much as you want out of this situation you do not want to get anyone else in trouble either. You were just going to have to hope for the best when you performed inadequately.

Despite the jovial feel in the air that went along with breakfast you were too nervous to eat much. Pretty much all you could do was observe the day’s activities. Your father was busy congratulating you most of the time and you received quite a bit of attention from the opposite gender. Even King Levice joined in on the celebration as best he could. He was probably the reason the celebration was being held outside. It was surprising that he was able to converse with his subjects so easily at his size. You would think that something as large as that dragon would not be able to see or hear a human. You thought he might be a magical or something like that. Levice would occasionally dip his massive head down so close to the ground that people would hand feed him treats like fruits and meats which he would kindly thank people for doing and he once again left you surprised that he could even taste those foods. That also made you wonder how much it took to feed a dragon that was of god like proportions.

The celebration stretched breakfast out, but it still came to and end too soon for you. Everyone, including Levice, was urging you to demonstrate your skill and you were forced to comply. You walked out to the demonstration grounds that had been set up during breakfast hesitantly. “There is no need to be humble knight, show me what you are capable of,” Levice called down from above. At least he had mistaken your fear for humility. Maybe he would accept that as an excuse for your poor swordsmanship.

You have the following choices:

1. You really are good with a sword.

*Noteb*
2. You can’t even lift your sword right.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
