Chapter #4

    by: Unknown
The shrink ray had stretched out farther than most people realized, its effects spreading through the woods and having effects on all different parts of the summer camp. Not all of it was hit, but large chunks and the ray hit both cats and dogs, making it so that in the end it was poor aim and not poor design that did the cats in.

Towards the front, both cats and wolves were scrambling over pebbles the size of small mountains and hills, goofing off and playing like all kids do. It was all part of the experience, they thought it was normal to suddenly look up at pebbles formerly smaller than the tips of their toe-nails as mountains. So, claws clanged as barefoot kids climbed all over tiny obstacles having a blast. Not even sharp edges were anything to be feared, aside from the fact that the edges were a lot duller now, wolf and cat cubs didn't have shoes, as for lupine and feline alike they weren't made.

Deeper into the place, Canids and Felines appeared to have become country-sized, at least to the shrunken ones. They'd just seen their friends suddenly shrivel right in front of them and were watching their every step, crawling on the ground looking for the itty-bitty-people. They weren't quite sure if this was a new game, if their friends had disappeared or what. A few had started to stomp around, but were quickly stopped and a most just looked around in confusion.

Throughout the place, lupine troops were on both sides of the fence, both shrunken and normal sized; in the dark. Lieutenant Dan Dean was among the shrunken ones, he had been standing on a stone path when suddenly the bunch of kids just a few meters ahead of him seemed to get bigger. That of course, couldn't have been, the other kids not five steps away were still just as short as a second ago.

He walked closer, and the closer he got, the bigger the distance seemed to get. When he stopped, he was on a stone over 100 meters up and ahead of him, fur-filled titans took up his view. A tigress's toes spread out on his right with pink painted spires making mine shafts in the ground and on the left a rather large lupine blocked out the sun with the tip of his claws. Elsewhere, all around, miniatures of each were scrambling over the rocks, through the dirt and everywhere else playing, a few were even scrambling up the titan's toes and onto their bodily forests of fur.
