Aw, damn it!

Cream and Vanilla found (to their slight displeasure) that there was nothing left in the patch of flowers that Cream had been digging in. "Aw, man!" said Cream. Vanilla sighed and said "Well, I suppose that we're going to have to get used to this". And so, both mother and daughter had to live different lives (the mother now the daughter, and the daughter now the mother). It would take a while, but at least they would have a good life.
