Your name was Jake and you were walking with Alex on the sidewalk after a grueling soccer practice at the park down the road from your house. Alex was your best friend in middle school, where you knew each other as classmates and as teammates in the 7th grade. Both of you guys were 14 years old at the time and you were about 5-foot-6 inches tall. The only difference was that Alex had black hair and you were blond. Also, Alex was more muscular where you were lean.
As you were walking past the large Szalinski house, a red laser beam suddenly shot from an open window! Alex saw it and shouted “DUCK!” but you didn’t see it.
The laser beam struck you in the shoulder, causing your entire body to tingle like crazy!
Then, it happened! Everything around you started to grow! Everything around you got bigger and BIGGER really quick! You had that sinking feeling like you were rapidly shrinking, because you were!
When it stopped, you looked up and you saw Alex standing before you like an enormous GIANT! As you looked straight ahead, all you saw were his enormous soccer cleats, which were like huge plastic barriers. As you looked up, his giant, thick, long muscular legs stretched out before you like skyscrapers! Needless to say, you were scared!
Luckily, the giant turned to face you! Then, his huge legs seemed to bend forward. His massive knees came down, pointing forward and facing you. Lastly, a giant arm came down and a hand reached for you, grabbing your torso with huge, thick fingers wrapping around your waist with a powerful grip.
The hand then raised your body off the ground, lifting you higher and higher until you were staring at the giant face of your best friend!
“ALEX!” you shouted in your tiny, squeaky voice. “HELP ME!”
“Relax, Jake! I saw you shrink. I’ll take care of you, little guy!” Alex said calmly with his booming voice. “You look like you’re about only fifteen centimeters (5.9 inches) tall!”
Then Alex started walking towards the front entrance of the Szalinksi house while carrying you in his hand…
