It was another dull as bones day in Diamond City. Nary anything even resembling excitement was happening anywhere, with most people either toiling along in their normal jobs or just lounging around. Even Diamond City’s most reclusive resident, the teenage witch Ashley was finding that there was little to do in her mansion hideaway.
“Red, I’m bored.” Ashley stated, strolling alongside her small, coincidentally red-coloured daemon Red. “Oh… Eh, and?” “I don’t LIKE being bored. I’ve done all the chores around the mansion, read through a dozen spell books and nothing’s interesting.” Stopping near a dusty window, she slumps her head on its edge, gloomily looking out into the city outside. “I don’t even feel like going out of my way to do something malicious. It’s THAT bad.” She mumbled. Suddenly, she heard the faint sound of laughter, and quickly found its source: two kids, probably about her age, a boy and a girl laughing as he ran around with her on her shoulders. They then stopped outside the mansion, and despite being some distance away, Ashley could easily make out what they were saying to each other.
“Oooh, I heard about that mansion. Apparently it’s HAUNTED! Something about an old witch dying there, with her curse residing over the house to anybody foolhardy to enter…”
“Heh, I doubt that’s dumb rumour’s true. Let’s have a look in!”
“Charlie, don’t… C’mon, you know how panicky I can get.”
“Don’t worry baby, as long as you’re with me, nothing’s going to get even close to ya!”
As this trivial exchange went on outsider her house, Ashley gave a rare grin due to their obliviousness, and before long was giggling as her index finger was directing a small army of skeletons, chasing away the couple. “Well, that was something.” Sighing, she started to walk down the hallway again. Then suddenly it hit her. “Red.” Caught unaware, Red quickly yelped in surprise, being easy to excite. “Um, yes Ashley?” Ashley paused and bit her lip, yet eventually responded. “We’re going to get me a boyfriend.”
