Scrambled Nightmare

The first clue that something strange was going on was the grin on Amy's face. It was exactly like Kate's grin when she would think about eating Jason. As she was frying up the eggs for the omelet, Jason also noticed that she was wearing nothing but an apron. One final clue to the fact that things weren't what they seemed was the fact that Heather wasn't awake yet. As much as it made sense of Kate to not be awake, Heather would almost certainly be up by now. By the stove, the mother had the eggs done when she said.

"Now, all I need is the last ingredient." To Jason, the grin would be all he could see as she reached down and plucked him from the counter. She held him over the eggs in the pan, dangling him almost tauntingly. All too soon, she let go and Jason started dropping. Before he hit the hot breakfast food, his eyes snapped open to stare at the ceiling above his bed.

It took him a few moments, but he sat up and said, "What a nightmare! Mom frying me into an omelet for Kate's birthday. Her birthday's not for months."

Shortly thereafter, Jason realized that he wasn't alone in his room as he turned to find his mother staring down at him with a worried expression.

"A nightmare in which I was cooking you into an omelet?! Why, that's terrible," She exclaimed in a concerned tone. Jason quickly tried to tell his mother that it just a dream and didn't really mean anything. However, once she started calming down, she spoke again. "Sweety...Be honest with mommy. How often do you have dreams like this?"

It took him a few minutes to think, but Jason finally confided to his mother, "Well, to be honest, that was the first dream I've had where I was going to be cooked, but I have had other dreams involving family members."

Amy stood there for a moment before asking, "What happens in these dreams?"

Jason blushed and chuckled embarrassedly before...
