Eggman had stolen the Chaos Emeralds for another plan of his. What it was didn't matter, it had to be stopped.
By the time they got there, it was already too late. Eggman was gone and the Emeralds were attached to a device that had made a hole in time and space.
The problem was that it was unstable and became a micro blackhole. Sonic began running in circles at top speed, his own vortex weakening the gravity pull but not by much. Shadow ran along side him to strengthen the vortex and Silver used his powers to try collapse it, but nothing was working.
Shadow realised there was no stopping it, so he grabbed the red and green Emeralds and jumped into the singularity. Sonic and Silver only heard two words before he disappeared. "Choas Blast!"
Silver awoke to the wrecked laboratory in a dazed state. Something seemed off with his body, but in his dazed state, couldn't put his finger on what. Looking around, he saw no sign of Sonic or Shadow. Instead all he found was a purple cat and an echidna.
The regal looking cat began to stir, holding her head in pain.
"Are you OK?" Silver asked. He wasn't sure where or when she was from, so he was hoping to keep her calm. Upon noticing his voice sounded different, he grabbed at his throat.
"Apart from a killer headache, I'm fine..." She replied, before gasping, and putting her hands over her mouth.
"Sorry to ask, could you tell me who you are?"
"Sonic the Hedgehog. Why, who's asking?" Silver was confused. There's no way she could be Sonic.
Looking at himself, he realised that his silver body was now gold and he was wearing strange clothes. He reached out to pull some glass towards himself, but nothing moved. Running up to one of Eggman's screens, he saw that he didn't look like himself anymore.
The echidna got up and looked at the two.
Great, just what we needed! Silver heard her think. But she heard it in Shadow's voice.
"Which of you is which?" She said coldly.
"Nice to see you too, Tikal."
They spent the next few minutes piecing everything together. Shadow/Tikal working out that her Chaos Blast pulled their bodies apart and new bodies were pulled across time for them. Sonic recognised Tikal and Blaze, but didn't know who Silver's new form was.
"Gold." Shadow/Tikal said. "I remember before everything went dark, someone was talking to me. She said she was Gold the Tenrec."
"So, where are our original bodies?" Silver/Gold asked.
"Maybe Tails can help with that. He's good at this stuff." Sonic/Blaze then tried to run, tripping and nearly burning her allies. "Oops. Sorry."
Shadow/Tikal gave her an annoyed look. "We should walk there normally. None of us have any experience with these new abilities."
Aw man! This is going to be so boring! Silver/Gold heard Sonic/Blaze think.
"Yea, I agree." She said, a little worried at her new telepathic powers.
