Sophie woke up with a gnawing appetite. Her hair was tossed, her shirt rumpled and pulled up, and her chubby belly laid out and growling on top of her. Smacking her lips, she wondered, "God, what's wrong with me?" She groggily got up from the bed, her fleshy frame rolling together and making the guttural sounds from within grow louder. Her bare feet hit the floor, and Sophie wearily put on some shorts and left the room. Her flabby stomach still hung from her shirt and jiggled in front of he as she walked.
In the living room, she found Julie, her best friend who was over for a sleepover. Julie was eating on the couch, her bare legs stretched out across the pillows, and she was watching TV. "Hi, Sophie!" Her greeting was muffled by the mouthful of waffles she was eating. "Good morning." Sophie answered. "Did you make waffles?"
"I hope you don't mind." Julie wiped her lips with her wrist. "I made some for you too." Her words were somewhat lost between the syrupy dough that was crammed in her mouth. Sophie lit up and smiled, nodding. "Thanks!" She made a move to leave the room...
...but heard the sounds of Julie turning back to the TV and wolfing down her breakfast. Sophie's stomach rumbled ominously. Slowly, she peered back around the corner at Julie's body lying sideways on the couch. Julie's attention was on the cable TV, and her bare legs pointed in Sophie's direction with their toes wiggling.
