This choice: Try to break free from her spell • Go Back...Chapter #5Try to break free from her spell by: ChevJames You say, "Surely you don't mean you want to eat me?"
She replies, "I am very hungry, little human, I haven't eaten in three days. After I eat you, I won't need to feed for a week."
You can't believe you are about to become a meal for this creature, as beautiful as she is. But you find yourself getting used to the idea.
"Little human, you can become part of me," she coos. "Wouldn't you like to be part of a beautiful unicorn?"
"I . . . I guess so," you stammer. But your mind recoils at the idea of being eaten. "No! I mean I don't want to be eaten! Not by you, and not by anything!"
"Oh, yes, you do," insists the unicorn. "You will become nutrition for my body, and part of my beautiful form. And besides, it will be painless for you. Once you are inside my stomach, you will simply fall asleep and never wake up."
"Please," you say. "I don't want to die! I don't want to be digested and there be nothing left of me! I want to go home! Please let me go!"
"I can't do that," replies the unicorn. "You know that unicorns exist, and you know that we eat humans. You might tell other humans about us if I were to let you go."
"No, no," you protest. "I promise! I swear! I won't tell anyone! Not even my parents! Not even my sister! Please! My parents would be heartbroken if I do not return to them!"
The unicorn narrows her eyes at you and stamps her left front hoof impatiently.
"We are wasting time," she says, "and I am getting hungrier by the minute." She dips her horn toward you and your clothes fall off in a heap at your feet. "Come to me now, so that I may ingest you."
You feel your legs moving of their own accord, as they take one step and then another toward the unicorn. Tears stream down your face as you realize that the unicorn has complete control of you and that there is nothing you can do.
"You're a female!" you manage to stammer. "Haven't you had a foal yet? Can you not imagine how my mother would feel if her child did not come home. What if you were my mother and some creature wanted to eat me? How would you feel about that?" The tears are coming steadily now and you are choking back sobs.
The unicorn regards you with her deep blue eyes. "I was a mother once, many years ago," she says to you. "And a human killed my foal for its horn."
"I'm so sorry that happened," you say earnestly. "That was wrong. But you know how my mother would feel if I didn't come home. Please! I would never harm one of you! I wish I could meet the person who killed your foal and shoot him for what he did!"
"You do?" she asks you. "Why is that?"
"Because the young of any creature is innocent, and should not be harmed," you reply. "The young should have a chance to grow into adulthood."
"Do you really believe that?" she asks, her eyes locked onto your own.
"Yes, I do!" you say as your tears continue to wet your cheeks. "Please, Mrs. Unicorn, please don't eat me because of what some bad human did! Please let me go home to my mother and and father and sister!"
The unicorn walks up to you and places her horn on top of your head again. "Would you promise to never tell anyone about me--about us? I will know if you are lying."
"I will never tell anyone!" you say. "I promise! I swear! Word of honor!"
"I can sense that you are telling the truth," she says. "All right. I will spare you. I won't eat you. But I am still very hungry, and I absolutely must eat very, very soon! If I don't eat you, then I must eat someone else." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
