Chapter #5
Margret, she'll become very feminine
by: Unknown
Margret sat at her little dressing table and smiled prettily at the mirror as she brushed her long, black hair. Today she turned 16 and her beau, Charles, was going to take her to the Cherry Festival. She'd never been allowed to go before, but her parents had finally decided she was old enough and she could hardly wait. She had spent all winter sewing a dress for the occassion. She wore it now and it fit her perfectly. She heard a snort from behind her and whirled around angrily to see her brother standing at the doorway, arms crossed in front of him. "Doesn't matter how much you brush that hair," he told her slyly, "You're still a monster underneath."
Margret glared at him. "You're just mad because your girlfriend dumped your ugly ass. Don't be jealous that some of us have found love."
Jeffrey uncrossed his arms and clenched his fists. "She only dumped me because you told her about Jessica. And you're the ugly one. You know when mom and dad first found you, you had scales?!"
Margret huffed daintily. "What a liar!" she exclaimed, "I only told your girlfriend the truth - that you were cheating on her. You wouldn't know anything about telling the truth."
"Don't believe me?" Jeffrey smiled, "Just ask mom and see what she says."
Margret didn't have a chance to reply before Jeffrey started calling out loudly for their mother.
Guinevere came down the hallway looking harried. "What is it, Jeffrey? You know I'm busy working on Marget's shawl."
"Margret doesn't believe me that she had scales when she was born."
