Chapter #3

No Way Up.

"You see Jason, the ray has not yet been perfected. The problem we have is that things continue to shrink beyond height we want them to be. I don't know how small you are going to become." Her sultry voice was loud as a freight train to my tiny ears.

"Please, Misty, could you hold it down. I'm right here, you don't have to scream."

"I'm sorry Jason. I didn't realize that your ears would become more sensitive to sound. You are going to have to speak up, yourself, I can barely hear you." Even her whisper was slightly louder than conversational level.

"Listen, Misty," I shouted, "I don't see what the problem is. Just reverse the settings and return me to normal."

"That isn't possible, Jason. We haven't figured out how to do that, yet. We believe we are at least six months away from figuring out how to reverse the process."

Clearly, I had gotten more than I bargained for. I couldn't worry myself with that now. I had impulsively set this whole thing in motion, and since I had no control over what was happening, all I could do was enjoy myself. In some respects I found my situation liberating, like I was a new person, not the old, shy Jason, who had trouble approaching beautiful women. And I had always dreamed about being in this situation, being tiny standing in the hands of a girl like Misty. Looking up at her, I saw the concern in her eyes.

"I'm sorry I did this Misty. I know I violated your trust. I would completely understand if you just left me to fend for myself."

Misty looked down at me consolingly and said:
