“Wow, it really does work. Why are you looking at me like that dad”, Jeff asks? You silently point over to the mirror on the wall. A look of fear goes over his face and he walks over to the mirror. “Shit, dad you turned me into Sam, my 16 year old twin sister. I should have known better than to let you tryout another of your crazy inventions on me. You better be able to fix this. Damn, and I have a important football match tomorrow”, he yells.
You run over to the computer and start going over the logs to see what went wrong. You soon find it. Due to software glitch Sam’s genetic profile got stuck in the buffer and Jeff’s didn’t scan. You’ve basically invented a Sam copying machine. You start explaining this to Jeff. Again he just holds up his hand and asks, “How long dad? Just tell me how long”. “Well the buffer I can clear in a few seconds, but your genetic profile will take a while. I’ll have to sequence an uncontaminated source like hair, blood, or some tissue”, you respond. Jeff turns red in the face and asks, “Just how long will that take, dad”.
