It was a late Friday afternoon when the old school bus came to a halt in front of Carlos' house, letting loose a puff. The door opened, and Carlos stepped outside, leaving the noise of laughing and screaming teenagers behind.
Carlos, or simply Carl as his friends like to call him, walked towards his house, fumbling with his house keys, searching for the right one for the door.
Getting the right one, Carlos climbed the stairs, and plunged the key in the keyhole. The door opened to silence, a thing that Carlos was very used to. His steppes echoed down the hallway as he made his way to his room.
Stepping inside, he threw his backpack on the ground and headed off to the kitchen. Like the rest of the house, it was deserted. His mom, like his dad, was off on a business trip, leaving him home alone, trusting him to look after the house, a thing he did for the last 6 years.
He searched the cupboards, finding a large pack of chips and other junk-food. Armed with that, he searched the refrigerator, finding a large coke.
Carlos stumbled back into his room, the junk-food stacked high in his arms, and placed it on his desk. Taking the large pack of chips, he flipped open his laptop, logging into his account on a chat sight.
Carlos riped open the crisp pack and started to munch the chips, while moving with his mouse to one of his friends profiles. He saw that he was on-line and didn't wast time to go and talk to him.
Carl: Hey, Mike, wotcha doing?
It took a few moments for his friend to respond;
Mike: Not much. Just some math homework.
Carl: Dude, you know it's Friday? Why do you even worry about it?
Mike: I want to do it now so that I don't forget about it. Besides, my dad forces me to do it.
Carlos rolled his eyes; he knew his Mike's father and how he wanted his son to get into collage. But he was a good dad, only wanting his son to succeed in life.
Carl: So, if your done, do you think you can come over?
Mike: Sure thing. My brother would take me.
Mike had also a older brother called Fred; a big guy who ones did wrestling in his high school years. But he has been gaining weight recently, due to the lack of exercise.
But how long did Carlos wait?
