Brett's breath hung visibly in the abnormally chill fall air. He panted and clutched his head, trying to relieve the pain from his hangover. At morning practice time of seven o'clock it was still striking him with a vengeance.
'Not so much next time' Brett promised himself.
"Brett get over here! Run maggot!" the coach called out.
Coach Mallory was the typical yelling coach downgrading the players but was really a nice guy with good intentions.
"What is it Coach?" Brett asked.
"Well I've just been noticing that you haven't seemed to motivated to get your lazy but out here on time in the mornings. Not only that but yo've been slacking off in your work-outs and you're falling behind in your performance on the field." Mallory said.
"Sorry coach I'll work on that." Brett replied.
"I don't want your apologies maggot! What I want is for you to step it up and get back into playing gear! If I don't see improvement soon I'll have to kick you off the team before you have a chance to apologize again. You understand that? Does that get through to you little pea-brain?" Mallory responded.
"Yes coach, I understand. It does." Brett answered.
'I guess I'll really need to stop getting hangovers every morning' he thought to himself. 'At least one or two days a week.'
"Good 'cause a guy like you can put on some real mass if you work on it. I won't have you waste good potential."
