Basil's good heart

"Oh...Basil dear." Madison stared up at the giant fox with little pouty lips, "Please spare us...haven't we been good friends? Please don't throw all of that away. I know you have a good heart. Besides, we've always looked up to you, with your good looks and wisdom. We...we love you Basil! Please have mercy!"
Basil looked nearly on the edge of tears as he heard her words.
"Oh...oh my. What did I almost do? I'm ashamed of myself. I let my hunger get in the way of what was truly important. Friendship!"
He picked them up in his paw and held them up to his face, "You're absolutely right, boom boom! This is nonsense...we can't just eat you like....UHHH....uh oh..."
He glanced out of the bathroom and watched as the other foxes hunted for the other humans, "The others! Their insatiable...I'll never get them to their senses! I must try to find your friends first!"
Bingo entered the bathroom behind Basil.
"Hey there...uhh...Basil? Who ya talkin to? Eh! Did ya find a human, bing bing!?"
Quickly Basil shoved the two humans into his pocket and turned to face Bingo,
"Oh...no Bingo. None in here. I was just talking to myself. Let's...uh...let's search the rest of the building, shall we."
Meanwhile, in Basil's pocket, the two girls were tossed gently around as Basil exited following Bingo.
India looked at Madison, than craned her neck up to look at Basil through the hole in the pocket, "I hope you know what your doing Madison. Even if Basil really has seen the error of his ways, we're still in big trouble. And if the other foxes find out what Basil is up to, he'll be in trouble too."
Madison put her finger to her lips and shushed India, "Do you want us to be overheard?"
But it was too late.
Bingo pointed at Basil's pocket, "I knew it bing bing! I heard voices coming from Basil...he's hoarding humans! Get him!"
Basil tried to escape, but they pinned him into a corner, "Please!" he tried to reason with them, "I was only trying to save my friends!"
The others ignored his pleas however.
"Hmph...well, he likes the humans so much, he can join them!" said Roxy, "I say we tie Basil and put him in the closet so he cannot interfere with our plans and begin our little game again, ...heh heh..."
"Wait...maybe we give him one more chance? If he'll eat those two humans in his pocket, than he's one of us again." said Bingo.
