The ancient artifact

Your name is Chris and you live in a small town on an island. Your town is pretty well known for fishing. Most people who grew up in your town fished. You hoped you could be good at fishing one day, maybe even be a famous fisherman. Besides hearing stories of catching big fish though, nothing exciting ever happened. Your friends weren't fighters, and there weren't many who traveled far enough to hear tales. For this reason, you were typically bored, practicing fishing with no luck. However, there was one other thing on your island that was pretty well known, the temple. It's said that the temple held a powerful item, but it's also said that whoever tries to use it's power will become cursed.

One day, you decided to ignore the warnings. After all, it couldn't be that bad… right? Once it became nightfall, you snuck out and went to the temple. Despite the fact that a powerful relic was in there, no one was guarding it. You always found this weird. You stepped into the dark building. From the outside, it was big and mighty, but inside, the place had been worn down, abandoned. There were cracks in the walls and vines hanging from the ceiling. You went down some stairs, going in deeper. The sounds grew ominous. You were debating whether to go back or not when you saw a glowing blue sphere. As you stepped closer, you had a strange feeling inside. You stepped up to it, unsure of what to do. You didn't want to be cursed, but it was like the orb was calling to you. After a moment, you grabbed it, making it glow brighter. The light shined brightly, before making you pass out.

When you woke up, your head was dizzy. You couldn't feel your limbs at all. You were about to look around when you heard a voice.

"It's too bad we didn't find the relic at the temple. It could have been useful to us. At least there was something." A woman said. After a minute of looking around you realized you were…
