Chapter #5

Trust Zoey and open the cafe's rusty front door

    by: Unknown
"Why are we going here?" I asked one last time as we got ever-closer to the door.
"You will see," Zoey replied with a smile, "Just wait."
I gave her a confused glance, my mind still puzzling over what might lie inside the tiny cafe. I realized I had paused for a moment, lost in thought, and had to hurry over the hot pavement to reach Zoey once more.
We walked in silence until reaching the rusty front door, my heart rate sped up, and my breathing got slightly heavier. I saw Zoey raise an eyebrow at me, but then she looked away, reaching out her hand towards the metal knob, she turned it, then opened it slowly...
I took a step forward, and I was in the door. What I saw there made my mouth form a wide circle and I almost had to rub my eyes, I was so disbelieving in what I saw.
This place, from the outside, looked like a run-down, dumpy cafe. But instead it was the place every writer dreams of. I felt tears being drawn towards the outskirts of my eyes, and I had to take a few deep breaths to gain some composure.
The room was magnificent. Hardwood floors and comfy rugs gave the room an open feel. The ceilings were high and were at multiple levels, reminding me of a castle. A fully functionally Mac stood in one corner, a futon made with gold silk sat in another, comfy pajamas laying atop it. Pens and pencils filled multiple mugs scattered around the room on desks and bookshelves. And oh, the books, every wall were filled with book after book. Some fictional, some to help me as a writer.
         "Welcome to Paradise," Zoey whispered.
