Chapter #4
"What's with baby Eva, mom?"
by: Unknown
“What's with Baby Eva, mom?” you hear your old voice say. “Why is she acting all weird right now?”
This can't be happening, you think in a panic. Does Eva have your old memories and personality? From the sounds of things, she thinks she's you!
“I'm not sure, Austin,” says your mum with a triumphant smile. “Do you feel all right?”
“Sure, I feel just fine,” your old body replies.
“You're quite certain?” presses your mother. “You don't feel anything out of the ordinary? Nothing the slightest bit unusual?”
“Nope. I'm normal,” says your old body with a shrug. “Anyhow, I'm going to go meet my friends now. You sure Baby Eva will be all right?”
“Oh yes,” says your mother. “Eva will be just fine. I'll take care of her.”
Unable to do or say anything, you watch helplessly as your old body walks off.
“Ga gi ga doo groo droo!” you cry in protest.
“Hush, hush,” says your mum calmly. “I know who you really are, Austin. But this is in the name of science. Surely you don't object to letting Eva borrow your body for a little while, all in the name of science?”
“Bloo groo da gra,” you reply.
“Shh, little baby girl,” answers mum. “There's absolutely no way you can talk right now, no matter how much you want to. You'll have to re-learn that skill all over again. The same applies to walking and using the bathroom.”
“Gaaa!” you wail.
“There will be plenty of time for that,” says your mother. “I plan on keeping you and Eva this way __________.”
