You've always loved the water, the coolness spreading over you, and the weightlessness, almost like flying only without the work. Watching your pink hair float about you, you run your fingers lightly through it before slowing coming up for air. Being a little more clever than most faeries, though admittedly not by much, you knew to swim near the reeds, and to be careful about coming up. It wouldn't do to reveal yourself to a horny raccoon looking for crayfish or a thirsty skunk stopping by for a drink. What they didn't know couldn't hurt you. The teachers had taken to using them for training purposes, having them act as predators in tests for the faeries to see how capable they were at escaping notice. A noise stirs you into awareness though, the sound of something moving nearby. Ever so cautiously, you ease up so your eyes and nose are peeking out of the water and look about. The reeds to your right crashed down and a fat green frog pushed its way through to the edge of the water. Odd sounds were coming from it though, as it dragged itself further out of the reeds it became apparent why. It's belly was swollen, and it had obviously just eaten a faerie, you could hear her fearful screams as it's belly churned and gurgled, noticeably moving on the outside. Poor girl, frogs have the slowest digestion time of all things, it would take at least a day for her to die, it's stomach acids were so weak. Maybe you could get help, maybe they could kill the frog and get her out... never mind. The frog dove headfirst into the water and began paddling outward, luckily lethargic from it's meal it had not noticed you. Had it been alert, your pink hair would have made you an easy meal.
