You recite the spell under your breath so they can't hear you. Soon after you finish with the spell, the boys shrink. Once they're done shrinking, you pluck up their frail three-inch bodies and set them on the table next to your burgers.
"What's happened to us?" Bryson squeals.
You look at him with mock disbelief. "I don't know," you lie. "We'll get this figured out, after all, I am a science teacher. But, in the meantime, I'd like to finish off these burgers. I'm starved."
----switch to Matt's POV----
You can't believe what's happened to you. But, you still have your well-developed powers of reasoning, and this feeds a growing suspicion over the whole situation. It seemed to perfect that you would happen to shrink down in Mr. Hanson's backyard, conveniently out of the way of any witnesses. And it seemed odd that your science teacher is the only one among the group who didn't shrink. Try as you might, you can't dismiss these events as coincidences.
Your thoughts are rudely interrupted by a sudden thunderous noise. A loud "excuse me guys" from above causes you to realize that the noise was the rumbling of Mr. Hanson's stomach. He must be pretty hungry to be able to eat four burgers. You watch in fascination as he picks the first burger up and takes a huge bite out of it. He chews the bite, licking the stray ketchup off his upper lip. The swallow comes next--a large gulping noise. You follow the lump of burger as it makes its way down his throat and into his chest. Now that you think about it, there must be a lot of room behind those six-pack abs. The rest of the burger disappears in four bites, followed by the other three burgers. At the end of his meal, Mr. Hanson releases a deep belch. "There's more room where that came from," he smirks.
