This choice: We switch to another FJL member • Go Back...Chapter #3Killer Croc meets the new Baby Doll by: Ace of Kings   The FJL had taken out nearly ever super-powered villain in the world by this time and the ones that were left were for the most part on the run. However this did leave a massive power vacuum that none super powered criminals were quick to fill. One particularly dangers criminal who didn't have any real superpowers but liked to make people think he did, was able to fill the power vacuum in Gotham rather quickly. This was Waylon Jones, aka Killer Croc or as he liked to be called know King Croc.
This started only a year ago when the FJL was first formed by the UN to take care of super powered criminals, and lucky for Killer Croc one of the laws that governed the FJL they could only eat criminals with superpowers, this included with those with magical, physical, or weapon based and since technically Croc was just a big, strong, guy with tough skin and sharpen teeth they were not aloud to eat him unless a judge had decreed him to dangers to be locked up and that was only after they brought him into trial. And he made sure that never happened, cause like his namesake he had mastered the ability to appear and disappear at will, which some clammed his skills could match even Batman's, and that particular skill aloud him to keep one step a head of his enemies as well as staying under the radar of the authorities. Also with Bane who was the one man in Gotham who was actually stronger than him in Catwoman's belly he was completely unchallenged in seizing total control of the underworld, all he had to do was kill and eat all of the none super powered crime lords.
This proved to be fairly easy for him because of many reasons. One of the biggest was that he had spent years building up a reputation as something that was more than just a carnival freak, to the citizens of Gotham the name Killer Croc inspired thoughts of a monster that could rise from the sewer and pull people down to eat them and over the years he did everything he could to live up to it, from eating people, to pretending to have super since of smell. The second reason was that even though technically he didn't have any real superpowers, he was still a 7 foot tall giant who was a skilled and brutal fighter who could amazingly still disappear and reaper when he wished despite his large size. Also his Epidermolytic Hyperkeratosis did offer some excellent advantages besides just looking scary, he also had incredibly tough skin and bones that allowed him to take a great deal of punishment, he could also eat things that would kill most people including uncooked meat. The third reason was that he was well liked by the common criminals in Gotham by showing that he took care of his men and would not use them as simple tools as the other crime lords like the Penguin and Two Face did. He moved quick, taking out many of the crime lords in few weeks by having many of them killed by their own men, others he killed personally then eat them, he particular like the Penguin and claimed he tasted like pork, others like Two Face were not killed but instead he would snap their necks with his bare hands leaving them alive but paralyzed for the rest of their lives. The ones that were left got the message, Croc was King.
The one crime boss he didn't want to kill was Baby Doll who was in Arkham at the time because she was one of the few people in the world who didn't treat him like a freak. So he personally lead an attack on Arkham with an army of over a hundred men to free her, he also made sure to burn the place to the ground and kill most of the other inmates, partly to make sure that he wouldn't have any competition but also because of the years of torture he faced when he was a patient there. When Baby Doll asked why he would do go through so much trouble for her he answered in his usually rough and strait forward thinking "I need someone I can trust."
