Nick gets an unexpected letter in his mail (wich is double unexpected because he's been dodging his mail for years, yet this one guy in a 'really' nice suit manages to turn up outside his van at 'do you have nay idea what time it is' AM to hand him a letter.
A letter that led him and Finick to a legal office, where he's told him that some aunt of his that he'd never heard of had passed away.
Nick had acted as the grieving nephew before the executor of the estate had told him to knock it off. He didn't know her and that was the way she liked it. She didn't want him to know of her until she saw what type of man he would grow up to be, and seeing what he was now. What he had become. She had to say.....the lady had been impressed.

A mansion whose location Nick had memorised by heart, because he used to go out near that property every night to stare past the fences and at the vast estate. Promising himself that one day he'd have enough money to live there. Heh he'd never imagine it would happen quite like this.
That house...and the last line...listing his new. Net. Worth.
Finnick fell out of the seat.
Holy-Manatee.
As he fought to keep the smile from splitting his face. The executor said that it was all his....provided...
Nick and Finnick froze. Uh oh.
Provided he meets a...condition the lady Bernadette Wilde had left to make sure to leave in her will as a final test of sorts for her new heir. To test his commitment.
Nick was uncertain. On one hand, he was being handed everything he ever wanted on a silver platter. Literally, the contracts were being handed to him on a silver serving tray, but he'd swindled enough people to know the catch wasn't going to be anything small.
He asked what it was.
The executor smiled. For him to gain his aunts wealth and wealth of properties to ensure he would never have to lift a finger to make money ever again, he just had to...
