After the ray transforms you in some new way, you notice Sarah and the other girls looking right at you. You feel a little nervous and back away.
"Sarah, what... is it? Why are you looking at me like that?" Your voice is so girly that you sound like you might break in half. You lean backwards and retreat on your completely hot pink socks. With your fragile hands curled up right by your shoulders, revealing a hint of pink nail coloring, you begin to shed a tear which falls on your lavender shirt, though you aren't quite crying. An increasing awareness of how shy and weak you are overcomes you. Everyone looks like they tower far above you, and it makes you even more uneasy. You shrink in trying to make yourself as small as you feel and ask Sarah why everyone is looking at your very self conscious self again.
"Sarah!" you sniff, "you're making me scared. I just wanted to be a boy again, don't get mad."
She finally says something. "Ohh, don't cry Brianna. You're such a shy girl, getting scared of your own sister." You almost believe that she is sincere until she starts laughing. But you still get some comfort out of hearing your stronger, braver sister talk to you...
Wait, you think to yourself. Stronger? Braver!? Since when?
The ray! She must have made you look up to her.
"Hey! Stop messing with me Sarah. I don't like your ray." Even though you mean it, you can't make eye contact.
Sarah saracastically replies. "Come on Brianna how can you think so low of your own sister, hehehe." She gives you a hug "Don't you want to go play?"
You feel safe in Sarah's arms. You think about how she is so smart and confident and strong... "No, I don't mean that at all, she's just my little sister!" You scream in your head, but it's not working.
"OK Sarah. I'm sorry, let's play." You say with your head down, but at least there's a bit of a smile.
All the girls laugh and Sarah, still with her devious remote, says "I knew you'd come along. You are going to have so much fun tonight, hehe."
Your naive Sarah trusting girl side totally believes that, but your boy side knows better.
