It had been two weeks. Two wonderful, glorious weeks of football victories, a new girlfriend, and food, food, FOOD!!! Nate went to school so happy every day of the week, and the weekends were filled with wild parties and laughter and nothing but good times.
It all went sour, worse than lemons and Warheads, when Nate realized how rounded his belly had grown. He was in the locker room, changing out with the team to go home, and one of his teammates made a comment about "that big ol' Nate-belly." And he had reached over and patted Nate's stomach, grinning, and Nate sort of laughed and shrugged it off. But when he got home, the first thing he did was race upstairs to the bathroom and pull out the scale.
Nate's eyes widened when the red 150 sneered at him from the scale's screen. He placed his hands on his gut, feeling how tight his skin was, and how warm his belly was, and how very soft it had gotten.
