You haven’t spoken to Maggie in years but you have to try your life depends on it. So you sigh and look up at Jenie.
“ look one more thing you have to trust me to do the talking here” Jenie gives you a look that you don’t like. You sigh again.
“ please just trust me it will work”.
100 miles away is Maggie now living in Buffalo after college her idea of art school didn’t quite pan out, and instead of going to The Rhode Island School Of Design. She ended up in Buffalo working as a cartoonist of all things for the newspaper A laughable waste of time. Sometimes at nights when she drowned herself in alcohol with Rachel they both had lost at the game of their dreams. She thought about you and what could of been so when her phone rang and she saw that it was you she answered.
“ oh hey how you been,” Maggie said answering your call.
“ Maggie I need help I’m in trouble I’m at the Washington Inn in Manhattan,” you say making your voice sound frantic. You look up at Jenie and her face shows approval.
“ OK, what’s wrong?” Maggie now sounds frantic herself and you almost feel a pang of guilt but you swallow it hoping that you sacrificing her will get you out of here. Maggie agrees to meet you and tells you that she’s on her way then hangs up.
It’s about an hour and a half frankly you’re amazed how quickly Maggie was able to get to New York City from Buffalo. It’s as if this is a fictitious story and the being writing it has never read or seen a map you think as Jenie opens the door. Quickly Maggie runs in looking around saying.
“ OK I’m here” then she stops seeing Jenie for the first time.” Wait who the hell are you where is he ?” But that’s all she manages to get out before Jenie shrinks her.
“ good job my good and faithful servant,” Jeanie says smiling down at Maggie.
“ wait what the hell are you talking about?” You hear Maggie say and again you feel guilty and stand behind Jenie.
“ come on out you deserve it after all your hard work sorry he’s just shy,” Jeanie says grabbing for you and dropping you in front of Maggie. Who looks shocked and then angry at you as you lay in front of her.
“ yes betrayed by a college friend priceless a Kodak moment if I say so myself” Jenie laughs and takes a picture of the moment The flash of her cell phone blinding you to mark the moment.”ï ¿¼
