Well... This happened...

Authors Note: This isn't part of the story this is me apologizing about accidentally publishing the previous chapter without proofreading. And then realizing that after I posted it, a good chunk of it was missing. So sorry for the inconvenience and hopefully me writing the next part will make up for that. Now without further delay, back to the story.
Everything seemed to be growing dim, like the lights in were slowly fading, changing into darkness. The very air Nathan was breathing seemed to be heavier, it was almost as if the room was turning into a tangible, solid form of darkness. With a few shallow breaths he stumbled to the door, trying his hardest to escape with his new possession. His body grew heavy and numb as he struggled to find a way out, to escape.
Soon Nathan's body became unresponsive to his will and collapsed onto the thick, fluffy, expensive carpet. His mind slowly faded dulling and darkening. Soon all he could do was stare mindlessly at the relic he had attempted to steal. A small, mysterious, enchanting tree. Somehow he managed to reach for it, and as his hand made contact his consciousness faded into the surrounding shadow.
The sound of soft rainfall filled the air, it's melodic tune awoke Nathan's senses. The feeling of cold wind against his, chilled wet skin. The smell of rain and damp, thick woods. The vague taste of earth. Then he opened his eyes and gawked at the sight of the relic he had tried to steal only a heck of a lot bigger. As he reached out to touch the tree out of curiosity a voice startled him.
"I wouldn't recommend touching that. It could end your life."
