This choice: "OK, let's go look for them." • Go Back... "Looks like nothing I'll say would dissuade you, even concern for your health..." The giantess then gives a reassuring smile. "Alright, I'm in, but here's the deal. I will need your help with this, but if you can't think straight or pass out again; I'll have to take the wheel on this one. Got it?"
You nod in approval. "O-OK..."
"Alright. Now, first things first, where did you see them last?"
You struggle to sober up, but at least you can give some simple instructions. "In the ship..."
"A ship? You mean like a really small boat?"
"No..." You try to stand, but she catches your wobble and uses her fingers again to help you stand. You point to the sky. "It fell and blew up..."
"So like a spaceship? And it exploded in the air, right?"
You nod. "Y-yes..."
She takes her fingers away from you to hold her free hand over her eyes. She looks to the sky and gives a slight "Hmmmmm..." Without her fingers for support, you flop over onto her palm. In the nick of time, she catches your upper body with her index finger. "Shoot, sorry! You good, tiny guy?"
You nod and smile up at her. "I-I'm good..."
She smiles back at you before becoming serious again. "Let's see. If your ship fell from the sky and exploded before it hit the ground; there's gonna be a massive area in which your crew could be - maybe as big as the whole beach itself. It'll be tricky to find them. Oh, I should ask; how many are in your crew?"
You try and hold up your fingers, but they must be too small for her to see. And with your inebriation; even you have trouble seeing them as well. "Eight..."
"Well that's a kick in the teeth. With eight tiny people like you scattered across this whole beach; we'll have a hard time finding them. Requesting an evacuation of the beach would make it worse. Your crew could be trampled in the confusion, that and it'll hurt my job..."
"I know..." you almost want to cry, despite her reassurance. "I-I'm sorry it's hard..."
She tries you use her thumb to hold your face up again. "The brave captain shouldn't give up like this. I said it'll be tricky, not impossible; right?"
You nod back at her. "Right..."
"Well, I've got some ideas. We could check for any sign of your ship first. They might be hiding around there. Otherwise, we can try and do a comb of a small area of the beach, little by little, and see if we spot someone. We need to be precise, but fast in case someone's in danger. I can cover more ground than you, so I'll help with the search."
"B-but what if you step on one?"
"Then I'll step carefully. And besides, I'm not the only one searching. I'll need your eyes as well."
"I-I dunno if I..."
"Hey, they're your crew. You know them better than I do. That's why I need you, understand?"
"O-OK. But...w-who are you?"
"Oh right!" the giantess lifeguard blushes. "Name's Elise. Sorry I should've said that sooner. So, are you ready to go?"
You nod and smile. "Y-yeah..."
"That's the spirit!" her fingers start curling around you. "I might need both hands if I'm gonna grab or dig your crew out of somewhere, and it's hard for you to stand of sit straight. So , I'll have to put you somewhere safe..."
Her hand folds around you as you get carried towards her shoulder. With her free hand, she pulls up the shoulder loop for her top piece. She gently sets you beside it and pushes you so that much of your body is covered by it. "I'm sorry, but this is the best place I could think of, at least; somewhere where tiny man hands shouldn't be. If my hair gets in the way, let me know, OK?"
You nod and smile back at here. "Y-Yeah, OK!"
"Wait a minute..." Elise reaches down and grabs a red lifeguard visor beside the empty beer bottle. She adjusts her hair and slips it on her head. Giving you a quick glance, she shifts the visor towards her left shoulder and you. "The sun's gonna be bright and might make it hard to see anyone. So this should reduce the glare." She turns to you with a confident smile. "You ready to find your crew, tiny guy?"
"Y-Yeah!"
"That's what I wanna hear! Now, where should we look first?" indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
