This choice: "...the chunky middle-aged woman and the sophisticated twenty-something chick." • Go Back...Chapter #5"...the chunky middle-aged woman and the so... by: JackHalf John gestured to the pair in question.
The shorter of the pair was a chubby little woman who looked more than a little disheveled. Looking to John as if she were in her late thirties, she had orange-red hair styled more like that of a woman in her fiftiees or sixties than her own age, slightly curled and short. He wore a large, slightly dirty overcoat with a big green purse thrown haphazardly over her shoulder.
A few feet away from here stood the other woman, a tall, pretty woman who couldn't be a day over twenty-two. She had a very pretty face framed by shoulder-length blond hair. Her trim figure looked very nice in her current ensemble. She wore a fitted, brown leather jacket over a tight red turtleneck; while her legs were clad in a pair of jeans a size or two too small, although John wouldn't have complained about them what with the wonders they did for her rear-end. She shifted back and forth from one foot to another, her jeans tucked into a pair of brown leather knee-boots, each of which was sporting a four-plus inch heel.
Frank appraised the pair; "Hmmmm...interesting. Well, we'll be doing one of them a big favor!" he chuckled.
Frank pulled the device up and pointed it in the two shoppers general direction. "Make sure you're touching it too bro."
John put his hand on the device as Frank activated it.
With only a momentary shimmer, the deed was done. The rotund little woman and her billowing coat now had the young blond's head resting squarely on her shoulders, while her chubby-cheeked face and head were now sitting atop the blonde's graceful neck just above her red turtleneck.
The blond reached up with a chubby-fingered hand to rub her forehead, apparently a tad dizzy. Only moments later she seemed to regain her composure and went right back to browsing the wares the older woman had been looking at.
The other subject seemed a little out of sorts for a moment after the transfer as well, stumbling on her new footwear's high heels a bit before regaining her balance. After the initial stir she went right back to her shopping as well.
"Amazing...." was all John could mutter.
"And no one notices a thing...including our transplantees." Frank marveled as he looked around the store. "Never ceases to amaze me either."
Suddenly, a phone began to ring in the tiny handbag the young woman's body had thrown over her shoulder. The chunky lady's brow furrowed as she fished it out of her new purse and answered it.
"Hello. Yes...I'm just at the mall. No, just doing a little window shopping. Yes, I'll stop and pick up something for dinner. I'll see you in a little while honey."
John gasped, "Hey, look, was the young one wearing a wedding ring before?!?!"
"No...I don't think she was. She's got one like the little cow had on before we switched 'em, and now the chubby broad's finger doesn't have one!" Frank answered.
"All of the personal effects must shift or something...or adapt. One thing's for sure, her husband is one lucky bastard. He's getting a hell of an upgrade." John offered.
"Too bad he won't even realize it." Frank laughed.
"Should we switch them back?" John asked.
"Not just yet. I've got some more features to show you. "
"Well, how about you choose the next guinea pigs. It's your turn." John replied.
"Let's broaden our choices" Frank said as he led John out of the store and into the greater mall.
Looking around them at the passing throng, a glint shown in Frank's eye as he spotted his choices for the next subjects.
"I think we'll switch those two next, the pair sitting on the opposite sides of that bench..."
