Gabriella sat in the lab alone crying, she had just been humiliated infront of Troy, the boy of our dreams when she tried to talk to him by his amazon girlfriend Lola. Lola was about 5' 11" and Gabriella was only 5' 4", giving the cheerleader a distinct height advantage. She had a crush on Troy since they sang together at the ski resort in December but she didn't have the courage to talk to him out and when she did, she got talked down and made to feel like a bug by her.
Lola knew how to do that, how to make herself seem much better than you even though you weren't inferior to her. Gabriella wanted to get back at her for that but she couldn't think of anyway, she wished she could be as tall as her or even taller, make her feel small for a change. " Why can't I be tall! I want to be an amazon!" she cried even harder as she recalled events only minutes old.
She was pretty attractive though as a member of the Science Club, she wasn't exactly the object of desire for many boys and she often kept a low profile since well, she was usually shy and kept to herself. Her Facebook account had hardly any friends other than her mother and Taylor, her friend. " I think I can help you with your height issue." said a voice.
Gabriella sniffed, there was a smell, a distinct. Whatever it was, it smelled great, like flowers to be precise! She saw a man wearing a dark suit, complete with a tie standing opposite her table. " Hello Miss Montez, you seem to have a height problem?" he said to her. " Who are you?" she asked, suspicious of him, he was abotu 5' 7" and had dark skin with a goatee and mustache. " I am Tobias, Wish granter, let your deepest desires come true!" he exclaimed with a laugh, a British accent was noticeable in his voice.
" You're just toying with me, you can't do that." she said, tearing up again. " No no no, I can. Why don't we make a deal? I'll help you grow taller, teach that slutty cheerleader you hate a lesson!" he said, she noticed everything seemed to be quiet, too quiet for a high school. " How?" she asked him, he did have a point about Lola. " Simple, you sign a contract!" A piece of paper appeared in his hand and in his other hand,a pen materialised out of nowhere. He set them down infront of her and told her the details.
" You are entitled to one wish and one wish only, though you can get another if this contract expires. Now write down what you want to get from the wish, in this box right here. Be specific though, too vague a wish can lead to nasty consequences. Had a girl who once wished she had her crush in the palm of her hand, next thing you know, he's three inches tall and she has to keep him in her old dollhouse." said Tobias.
Gabriella thought about it and she could be specific, to the point, no harm in trying but as she tried to write it down, he stopped her. " Now, after you do so. Sign your name, your full name and know this, I am not liable for any damage caused by this wish, if you kill someone or hurt someone you love, I will not reverse the damage unless you trigger certain clauses. Do remember that when you make your wish." he said.
" So, what do you get out of this?" she asked him.
Tobias laughed, " I am serving time for offences of a magical nature, caught trying to get people to hand over their souls until Merlin caught me and had this implanted on me!" He lifted his leg and pulled back his pant leg to reveal what was supposed to be a tracking device. " See this? If I make a false deal, try to con you out of anything, I will be zapped with 100,000 volts of electricity, it doubles everytime I scam someone, magic immune or I would have taken it off but no big deal, so please read everything before you sign it." he said, putting his leg down, sneering at the device.
Gabriella did not know what to wish for but she figured perhaps she could wish to be the tallest girl in school but then what happens if say, they get a basketball girl who is seven feet tall, a 7' 1" giant is not what she wanted to be but it would get her attention. Maybe she could opt for a size changing ability, grow as talls she wants, when she wants. There was even acquiring the ability to steal Lola's height, reversing roles but she didn't want to make Lola look small, she didn't mind toweriing over the school, though she promised herself she would be a gentle giant and not hurt anyone.
So she wrote: " I, Gabriella Mimi Montez wishes to be the tallest female in East High. Signed Gabriella Mimi Montez." As she signed it, the document split itself into two identical pieces, Tobias handed her one. " Thats for you, I'll keep my copy and you keep yours. If you need to summon me for anything, hopefully not, just tear that sheet in half and I'll be there to assist you in anything." said Tobias, he then vanished in a puff of smoke, leaving her alone in the lab.
