"Hi, I'm Darcy Daye! And I was wondering if we had the same room. I mean, I've been asking everyone, but..."
Mary zoned out as the boring girl droned on and on about it. Even now, she couldn't believe someone like this had gotten through Doxon's rigorous process. She was half-tempted to tell the girl that she was in the wrong room, just to be rid of her. But, Mary knew that if she said that, it was all downhill. So, she let the girl prattle endlessly; it was all she could do.
At last, Wise came back into the room and held up a cue card, which read "Room 15-7, Floor 17". Mary knew it was hers, and quickly headed over into the line. Her fellow members of room 15-7, however, weren't the greatest of picks. In fact, each one of the girls was horrendously hideous, and Mary interally shriveled to imagine herself even in the same group as these ugly girls. But, she sighed in submission: the job was more important. All of the gross girls and Mary boarded the elevator (after all, there were only 7 or 8 of them, excluding Wise) and rode all the way up to floor 17. Mary was squeamish around heights, but she feared showing any signs of weakness would flock the geeks to her.
When at last the girls reached the top floor, Mary felt a very unknown finger prod her shoulder. She had the oddest premonition it was someone she hadn't wished was in her room...
"Oh, it's you! Yay! I'm so glad. You remember me, right, Darcy, from downstairs! I'm so happy we have the same room! That must mean we'll be..."
Darcy gasped like a complete idiot.
"modeling together!"
Darcy did a little leap of joy, and Mary groaned. Just then, Wise began to push the girls into a room of complete white, where a grinning Chinese woman met them.
"Hi, girls. My name is Dr. Chin, but please call me Norma, they all do."
This woman had a giggling problem, and was always smiling. Mary gave her the once-over, and knew her over-eager type. This was going to be interesting... | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
