When One Door Closes, You Go Out the Back!

Gary watched as the simpleton couple drove away, miles from caring. How stupid could they be? After all, they'd paid him up front, no questions, no worries. Did Gary really look that trustworthy? Or were they really as idiotic as he thought? He remembered hearing a story about people like that; they're the types that always end up getting jipped!
Assured that Mr. and Mrs. Numbnuts had left, Gary made a run for the front door. After all, with the key outside, Gary was hardly needed if he locked up. The kid could hold his own. Gary had, when Mom worked 'til ten and Dad wasn't around. And who cares about a goddamn cat, anyways? It would have died regardless. He jostled the doorknob, and then noticed something strange. The lock was only on the outside. Weird! And the dumbasses had locked up! Huh?
So, Gary headed towards the backyard. That door, too, was outside lock only, and, oh, locked! Gary couldn't believe it. Wow! Seems the family was a little more keen that he'd thought! Gary rushed around, checking the windows. He then remembered another of the family's instructions...
"The only window that opens is Dillion's; it was replaced. The others have been jammed up since we moved!"
With a grin, Gary hopped up the stairs, and barged into the tot's room. Child's play, to say the least. He opened the frame, just large enough to slip through. God, from the second story... He felt like Spiderman! How ironic...
