This choice: She follows Hanako to Junes. Could she just be shopping or maybe something more. • Go Back... Naoto’s trailing would lead her all the way to Junes, of all places. “Now that’s odd. Surely she would get all her shopping done before the new year started… Unless she’s not shopping at all! I have a feeling I know where this is going and I don’t like it.”
Naoto would follow Hanako through Junes until she found what she was looking for and it was an area she was dreading. Hanako’s journey lead her to the electronics department, more specifically the TVs. She looked to see if anyone was watching, and just as figured no one was around, she dove head first into the flat screen in front of her.
“This is bad!” Naoto thought, “Could she be using the power of the TV world to fatten up all the students. Messing around with that kind of power is dangerous. I’ll need back up!” Our blue haired, detective princess pulled out her phone and called her friend.
“Chie-senpai, I think I might know what’s going on with the girls!”
“Really!?! Are you sure? Please tell me! We can help Yukiko right!?!”
“Calm down, it’s just a theory, for now, but I think Hanako has a persona and is using its power to manipulate everyone’s weight.”
“So if we just beat the snot out of her, you think we can turn ‘em back to normal, right?”
“We can’t rush in now. Look I saw her jump in the TV at Junes. I don’t want my cover to be blown so what we’re going to do is try to get here tomorrow, after school, as fast as we can, jump in and stakeout the TV world so we can confirm what she’s doing.”
“Ooooooh I’ve wanted to hear that again for a long time now! It’ll be like the investigation team is back together. Ok, I’ll see you tomorrow, bye!”
Naoto headed back home, determined to save her friends. After getting inside she headed straight for her room and packed some supplies: medicine, goho-ms, her old armor and weapons and some snacks. As she looked over her supplies she noticed the snacks as an odd edition. “Now that’s strange. I wouldn’t normally pack snacks… well I guess we are doing a stakeout so I guess he snacks will prove useful.” Gurgle gurgle “Or perhaps I’m just hungry… I suppose I haven’t eaten in a bit. I should probably have dinner now.” After her, unusually hearty, dinner Naoto got ready for bed and dreamed of the plan and food.
The next day Naoto headed for school with a bigger bag, a plan, and a bully full of breakfast. For reasons, unbeknownst to her. She was having a harder time than usual actually getting to school. “Huff puff My goodness, did school always feel this far? Maybe huff it’s just this heavy bag. Perhaps I should have packed puff lighter. Honestly what’s with this sudden heat wave.” Naoto wiped a large bit of sweat from her forehead, and kept trudging along to school.
“Uuga finally!” Naoto would make it ten minutes later than she usually would. Granted she would usually be around twenty minutes early but still it was a new record for her slowest time. Through out class, she couldn’t for the life of her pay attention. All she could think about was her friends, food, the plan, more food, and getting to Junes early and even more food.
When class finally ended Naoto headed straight for the cafeteria and started buying food in bulk to take to the roof and eat with her friends. On the roof, Chie sat and watched her friends pig out, still worried they might not be able to fix them. Then as soon as the door opens, and she sees who was walking through the door way, she goes pale and is filled with dread. “Naoto what happened to you?!?” She yelled shifting the attention of the two pigs to the tomboy detective. Rise gave a jiggly wave. “Hey Naoto-san, you look hungry. Come eat with us.” “Don’t mind if I do. I’m starving.”
Chie was horrified by the sight. Naoto’s plan seemed less and less likely to work with each bite she took of her great lunch. “Oh Naoto-kun congratulations on your growths spurt!” “Yukiko! For the last time! Growth spurts don’t do this!!!” Naoto, only half concerned, kept eating. “I on unershan. Wha growf shpur.”
Chie pulled up her phone so Naoto could see her new figure. Starting with her head, her cheeks were noticeably fuller and a double chin began to show. Moving down we could see pot belly form under her shirt and her thighs were noticeably thicker. “Naoto-kun we need to stop her before you become just like them!” Rise stopped eating and puffed up her noticeably already puffy cheeks. “Heeeey! Ru-ude.”
After school Naoto ran as fast as she could to the front gate to meet with Chie. It would seem as though the spunky tomboy was preparing as well as she had her motorbike ready. “Naoto-kun put on a helmet, hop on and hang tight.” They were half way to Junes with no sign of Hanako. Chie began to worry.
“How do we know we’ll get there before her? What if she has a car or something?”
“Don’t worry Chie-senpai. It wouldn’t matter if she did as her inflated ego is probably getting her to bully some of her newly fattened peers. CRUNCH! An beshids, I know she dosn have a car.”
“Are you eating over my back!?! Aw come on, your gonna get crumbs on my jacket!”
The two reached their destination, Chie dusted off her back, and they headed for the TV world to wait for their target. Inside they sat behind a set of camera equipment and waited. Naoto would stuff her face with multiple bags of chips, much to her friends dismay. After the fourth bad was finished their target had arrived, and Naoto was 20 pounds heavier from all the eating. “Naoto-kun, it’s her! Now let’s see what she’s doing to our friends.”
The three would travel down a large winding road. Until they reaches their destination, an old ramen shop, one that Chie didn’t recognized. “Maybe it closed down in the real world, but it lived on in the shadow world.” Hanako would head inside letting the girls get close and try to peer through the window. Inside was something they weren’t ready for.
Hanako walked past the stalls with different people, sleeping with their heads on the table. She puts on a chefs robe and yells out, “Ok girls who’s hungry?” All of them wake up, lift their heads and cheer. Chie and Naoto get a better look at these people and realize they’re all shadows. They see an obese stripper licking her lips in excitement. A slovenly fat princess taking off her gloves in preparation for her meal. They find what appears to be Ai’s shadow fattened up, but with an image otherwise unchanged by the shadow world. Multiple other chunky shadows based on their other class mates. Finally they saw a scientist, with a robe that may have been, at one point, way too big, but she seemed to be growing nicely into it.
Hanako came to the relatively small shadow with the first ramen bowl. “Here you go, eat up while it’s hot.” She leaned into the shadows ear with a wicked grin on her face “That’s right little piggy eat up. Don’t worry about your weight or education. You’re safe here. Eat up and grow nice and plump!” As she said this a red and black, robotic, spirit emerges from behind her and played a soothing tune on its flute. The shadow listened close to the song and began devouring her meal.
“That’s impossible! How the heck did she get a persona?” Chie’s question would have to wait as a shadow was coming! The black ooze slithered right past our two heroines and busted into the ramen shop. “Good, I was wondering when you might show up.” Hanako seemed completely unfazed by the hostile monster, almost like she lured it here some how. Her persona came out once again and played a different tune. This time the tune was more somber. The shadow began to wriggle and writhe until finally to took the form of Chie.
“There we go much better. Tell me, Chie-chan are you hungry?”
“Heh you bet your ass I am. Hurry up with the grub why don’t ya!”
“Of course though I apologize as you will have to wait your turn.”
“Pft whatever. This better be the best ramen ever!”
Hanako quickly got bowls for the rest of the shadows including shadow Chie. Once again Hanako leaned in and summoned her persona. It went back to playing a soothing tune. “Eat up. Stop worrying so much about those around you. Don’t worry about the expectations people have of you. Give in to whatever urge you may have.” The shadow heard these words and began stuffing herself.
“No way I’m not gonna end up like them… am I? That’s it, Naoto-kun ,we have what we want , now let’s storm in and stop them… Naoto-kun?” She looked around for her friend only to find her continuing to snack. “Sigh fine! If you want something done right you have to do it yourself.” Chie heads into the ramen shop. Alone and unknowing of her possible fate.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
