Suddenly, as the two dragons were foraging through the lake for moss, a large hand made out of wood thrust out of the lake directly under Cynder. She was immediately grabbed, and pulled under the water.
"Cynder!" yelled Spyro, fearful for his companion. e ran over to the place that she had been just before being grabbed. out of the water cane a giant wooden figure, which Spyro recognized as Arboric, the boss from The Eternal Night. It held Cynder for a few seconds while she struggled against it's grip. Gasping for air, she tried to appear menacing, but after being underwater, she was out of breath and was completely powerless to stop the beast. he laughed, and threw Cynder against a tree a few hundred feet away, knocking her out.
Spyro, angered, decided to do something. his abilities had been strengthened since the last time he met Arboric, and he completely demolished the giant in flames. Hundreds of angry fireballs shot from his mouth, instantly repelling the beast, which fell apart into a pile of ashes. Arboric being slain, Spyro turned to where Cynder had landed, hoping to help her in some way.
He was suddenly taken aback, shocked by what he saw.
