This choice: He remains hidden, seeing what Nikhil does • Go Back...Chapter #4He remains hidden, seeing what Nikhil does by: Unknown As Peter looked around, he suddenly heard more rustling coming from the east. He stayed hidden, and watched as the giant boy turned around with a stern look on his face, like he was afraid. "What could make a twenty-foot tall muscle boy get afraid like that?" Peter thought to himself.
Suddenly, a huge black panther leaped from the trees and jumped on the boy, knocking his spear away. Peter was stunned; the panther was even bigger than the boy, at least twenty-five feet long and twelve feet tall at the shoulder. It had beautiful silky dark fur, and razor sharp teeth and claws.
The panther pinned the boy to the ground, and gave a loud growl. The boy growled right back and quickly slipped from underneath the panther's grasp. He jumped to his feet and turned to face the panther, with a wide stance as if to try and tackle him. The panther circled around, and they had a stare down for a few seconds. Then, the panther leaped at the boy, but the boy quickly dodged him, throwing the panther off balance. The boy then jumped on the panther's back. Peter could see the boy's large muscles straining as he wrestled the panther to the ground, pinning it down.
At this point Peter had enough, and he decided he didn't want to stay around to see the finish. He tried sneaking out of the tree trunk, but he accidentally stepped on a branch. The panther turned its head towards Peter and spotted him, then leapt to its feet and rushed over towards Peter. Peter saw his life flash before his eyes, cowered and covered his head as the Panther bore down on him, until the boy yelled, "Kalima! Thaharana!"
The panther immediately came to a stop, and Peter looked up to see it sitting mere feet in front of him, with a fierce but noble look on its face.
At this point, the boy ran over to the two of them, shaking the ground with his giant feet as he did so. Peter wanted to run away, but was to terrified to move.
The boy stopped next to the panther, and crouched down, examining Peter. Peter was amazed to see this huge face, with eyes as big as basketballs and a mouth that could swallow him whole, in front of him. But something about that face calmed him a little; even though it was tough, it had a smoothness and a gentleness to it that seemed comforting.
The boy reached out his hand to Peter, and said something in a language he didn't understand; he guessed it was Hindi. Shaking, Peter leaned away, instinctively trying to escape the boy's grasp. "Wh-wh-who are you?" Peter asked.
A small smile crept across the boy's face, and he stopped his hand a couple of feet in front of Peter. "My name is Nikhil," the boy said, with surprisingly little accent. "I saw your plane as it crashed into the jungle, and I came to rescue you."
Peter looked at Nikhil incredulously. "Rescue me? From what?"
Suddenly, a loud bomb filled the air. Peter spun around to see trees crashing down behind him.
"From that," Nikhil said, pointing at... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
