Chapter #6
Using the medallion next weekend
by: Unknown
"You almost ready to go hon?" Michael asked his wife as she applied the finishing touches to her makeup
"Yep," she responded as she headed into her closet, "just let me grab my shoes"
Michael and Sally were getting ready to go to dinner with their neighbors, Travis and Rachel. They were a middle-aged couple that had four daughters from ages 6 to 16. They had met when Michael and Sarah first moved in and had become fast friends. Despite the age difference, the two couples spent quite a bit of time together and even went to Hawaii for a week last summer.
"How do I look?" Sally asked as she emerged from the closet.
"Fantastic," said Michael as he looked her over. She was wearing a light denim button-up shirt with the top few buttons unbuttoned showing a little bit of cleavage. She also had on some black leggings that went down to mid-calf and some leopard print flats.
"You look pretty good too," she said to Michael who was wearing slim jeans and a red flannel shirt.
"I wonder what it would be like to have as many kids as Travis and Rachel," Michael mused as they both headed downstairs.
"Me too! In fact sometimes I wish we could try having kids for a week or so before fully committing."
"Haha," Michael laughed, "Wouldn't that be nice? Too bad it doesn't work like that."
"Or does it..." Sally paused. As they silently made eye-contact each knew what the other was thinking. They hadn't used the medallion since last weekend, maybe tonight would be a good opportunity to use it again.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Michael asked, "Do you want to switch bodies with Travis and Rachel?"
"Think about it!" Sally answered, "It would be perfect! We know them really well. I think spending a week as them raising four kids would give us a good taste of what it's like to be parents."
"Do you think they'd go for it?" Michael asked.
"It wouldn't hurt to ask," and with that Sarah grabbed the medallion, tucked it carefully into her purse and headed out the door.
