As all eyes turned to Hailey to see which present she'd choose, she froze. "Uh... uh... I prefer to watch a few others go first..." Hailey stammered.
"That's ok dear," Aunt Jill said. "Rose, why don't you go?"
"Sure," Austin's cousin said, getting to her feet. She grabbed a present and disappeared into the bathroom.
Meanwhile, Austin made his way over to Hailey and sat down beside her.
"So, that's really you in there?" Hailey asked incredulously. "How does it feel?"
"It's me, and honestly it feels really weird!" Austin said still getting used to his new voice. "But it's weird in a good way. It feels like my whole body is jiggling when I walk." he laughed.
"Yeah, you should probably put on a bra if you're going to be walking around," Hailey laughed, eyeing her boyfriend's new chest.
"There's plenty of those in my suitcase," A voice chimed in. Austin whirled around to see the real Aunt April approaching him. "Are you enjoying your first night at the adult's table?" She asked with a smile.
"This is a pretty good first body to end up with!" He said standing up and looking himself over.
"Well I hope you enjoy yourself," she said. "If you have any questions, just let me know" April said as she walked away. Austin and Hailey noticed a tall man coming out of the bathroom wearing flannel pajamas. They assumed it must have been Rose in her new body. Another family member got up, picked a present, and went to the bathroom.
"So what are the rules? Like how is this going to work?" Hailey asked.
"Well, assuming it works the same as the kids, we try to act like the bodies we're in." Austin said sitting back down and crossing his legs.
"So..." Hailey said hesitantly, "Does that mean you're going to be...ahem...sharing a bed tonight?"
Austin paused, "I hadn't thought of that, but I yeah I guess so. With whoever ends up in April's husband's body!" he said with an amused expression on his face as he bobbed his foot up and down.
"Oh my gosh!" Hailey suddenly said, grabbing Austin's knee, "Look!" she pointed at the Christmas tree.
Austin looked up to see his Mom picking up a present with a sly smile on her face. He noticed it as the present that Hailey had brought.
"Your mom is going to be in my body!" Hailey said, freaking out a little bit, "That's so weird!"
Austin laughed, "I'll admit, that's a little weird, but you better get used to it. A lot of people are going to be spending time in your body this week."
Hailey couldn't believe it. She was starting to regret coming on the trip.
Austin put his arm around Hailey, "Hey, I know this is a lot to take in, but trust me, once you do your first swap you'll see how much fun it is to be in a different body."
A few minutes later, a perfect copy of Hailey came out of the bathroom and walked towards them.
"I couldn't resist taking this body for a test drive," His mom said. She was wearing pink flannel pajama pants and Hailey's white tank top. "It feels good to be this young again." She said as she ran her hands down the sides of her body.
Hailey stood up and looked over her twin. "You look exactly like me, Mrs. Williams!" she said.
"Ah ah, I'm Hailey now!" Mom said. "Didn't Austin tell you the rules?" she laughed. "We're supposed to act like the bodies that we're in, that includes names!"
Hailey laughed, "Sorry Hailey, APRIL did tell me the rules!" She said glancing over at Austin. "Ok, I think I'm ready to take my turn" she said.
"You better hurry up!" Mom said, "I think there's only a few presents left!"
